• Professor Cristian Bârsu studied medicine at Cluj Faculty of Medicine (1991-1997).
• In 1998, he began the didactic and scientific career in history of medicine, at the same Faculty.
At this Faculty, he teaches courses for students in the following domains:
– History of Medicine – for the Romanian, English and French series
– Medical Sociology
– Medical Deontology.
Prof. Cristian Barsu introduced the course of History of Dentistry in the curricula of the Cluj Faculty of Dentistry.
He also teaches Medical Bioethics for PhD students in medicine.
•In 2004, he received the title of doctor of pharmacy, with the qualification “Magna cum laude”.
•Cristian Barsu wrote – as unique author – 10 books in History of Medicine. He published, as co-author, 5 books of the same domain. Also, he is the editor of 5 books in History of Medicine.
•He is the winner of many awards, such us: “Pro Merito Medal” of the Polish Academy of Medicine (1999), “Ioan Baciu” Prize (Cluj, 2005), “Victor Papilian” Prize (Cluj, 2009), Honorary diploma of the “Constantin Papilian” Military Emergency Hospital from Cluj (2013) and “Wilhelm Fielderman Foundation” Prize (Bucharest, 2020).
