Biologist, historian of sciences, spheres of scientific interest: history of medicine, ethnical medicine, medical anthropology, medical botany.
1972: junior scientific officer, Division of the History of Medicine, Institute of Medical Parasitology and Tropical Medicine; 1974: junior scientific officer, Division of the History of Georgian Medicine and Medical Ethnography, 1984: senior scientific officer; 1991: assistant, Chair of the History of Medicine (TSMU). From 1974 up to present, at different times, she delivers lectures in the history of medicine and general theory at Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU), David Aghmashenebeli University of Georgia (SDASU), Georgian American University (GAU) and other higher education institutions of medical profile. 2010: chief teacher at “Chveni Skola” (Our School) under Tbilisi State Conservatory.
Since 2002, member of the International Society of the History of Medicine (ISHM).
About 130 scientific publications, including monograph – “Four Georgian Medical Manuscripts of 16th – 18th Centuries”, e-book “Medicinal Plants in Georgian Medical Manuscripts”, „Catalogue of Georgian Medical Manuscripts”.
