Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, 1985 (FMUP). Completed the Complementary Internship in Gynecology and Obstetrics and the final assessment exam in 1995 with the degree of Hospital Assistant. Post-Graduate in Cultural Management promoted by Associação Empresarial de Portugal and Instituto Português de Museus (2002-2003). Associate Professor at FMUP since 2006. Responsible for teaching the History of Medicine (1990/91 to the present). Conductor of optional disciplines of History of Medicine and History of the Medical Instrument. Professor of the Master’s and Doctorate’s degrees in Palliative Care and in academic and clinical education. Director of the Museum of History of Medicine (since 1990/91). Member of the Scientific Council (since 2018). Researcher at CITCEM, Porto Arts Faculty. Reviewer of the UP Editora. Member of the UP Museums Network. National Delegate for the ISHM (since 1996).
