1902-2022 120 YEARS SINCE THE FAMOUS “BRANCUSI ÉCORCHÉ” WAS DONATED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF IASI The Écorché was made by the future outstanding Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957), while a student of the School of Fine Arts in Bucharest, at the initiative and under the careful supervision of his Professor of Anatomy, |

120 YEARS SINCE THE FAMOUS “BRANCUSI ÉCORCHÉ” WAS DONATED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF IASI
The Écorché was made by the future outstanding Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957), while a student of the School of Fine Arts in Bucharest, at the initiative and under the careful supervision of his Professor of Anatomy,
Dr. Dimitrie Gerota (1867-1939), a prominent Romanian anatomist and surgeon.
Professor Gerota was trained in Paris and Berlin, where he was Professor Gottfried von Waldeyer`s assistant.
