Greetings to participants
From September 15-18, 2022, the 48th Congress of the International Society for the History of Medicine (ISHM) will be held in Iasi – Romania. The congress will be in hybrid mode – online and onsite. Many distinguished scholars in the field of medicine, pharmacy, biology and history of science from all over the world have accepted to get involved in this event and give lectures, which hopefully will also represent a useful medical-historical school.
Together with members of the Romanian Society for the History of Medicine and the Romanian Society for the History of Pharmacy, “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Iasi, the Society of Physicians and Naturalists of Iasi, the Iasi Branch of the Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences, “Queen Mary” Municipal Museum and Iasi City Hall, we hope to welcome – both onsite and online – renowned specialists as well as young researchers and students willing to share their experience and knowledge.
The Congress programme will include panel discussions, plenary sessions, oral and poster presentations.
On this occasion, apart from an assessment of the current state of medical history in different countries and in ISHM own projects, new collaborative research teams and various partnerships could be formed, offering complementary perspectives to the International Society for the History of Medicine at the beginning of its second centennial.
We kindly invite you to support this event and participate in this Congress.
Professor Dana Baran, MD, PhD
